ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity is the best Android tablet on the market at this time. Here we are talking about its autonomy, application performance, portability and the practical use of the system.
ASUS is one of the few manufacturers of portable tablets that have been successful. Taking into account market developments and the needs of buyers. ASUS tried to sell a new experience and I think they have succeeded, especially with the ASUS Transformer tablets, a 2-in-1 gadget - tablet and netbook with docking site.
After ASUS Transformer and ASUS Transformer Prime, today we are talking about ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity. At first sight appears to be a simple tablet identical to its predecessor. On the outside are not big changes compared to ASUS Prime. Like other tablets from the Transformer Pad family, Infinity has a mobile dock, a true innovation 2 in 1.
The Taiwanese manufacturer has kept all that was best from previous generations and even went to perfection with the ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity.
Earlier this year we tested ASUS Transformer Prime – an ingenious tablet, so I will not dwell too much on the Android 4.0 system and also on the design or docking, which are borrowed on large-scale from Prime. The docking site is the one released with Prime.
I'll tell you more about what's new on ASUS Infinity. The Taiwanese manufacturer has addressed the issue of GPS and Wi-Fi by applying plastic parts in the antenna. Thus, the back cover is full metal. Aesthetically, it was a great idea, but a quicker solution to solve the problem is not found. If you are not overly demanding, you will probably overlook it.
Also on the back of the tablet is the new 8MP camera with F/2.2 aperture and flash. I would say that Infinity is the first tablet that I tested the camera with a little more attention and I was pleasantly impressed with its picture quality. I'm not a fan of cameras on the tablets, but for spontaneous moments does its job very well.
If on the outside is not much to say, the similarities between Prime and Infinity is very clear, the situation changes inside. The new tablet has a configuration that provides superior performance for Prime generation. ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity (codenamed TF700) has a quad-core Tegra 3 to 1.6 GHz and comes with a screen of 10.1 inch Full HD 1920 x 1200, Super IPS +, Corning Gorilla Glass 2 for durability at scratches and with a brightness of 600 nits. Configuration is completed by 64GB of storage and 1 GB DDR3 RAM. All these work together to provide a pleasant user experience.
I was pleasantly impressed by the display. First is resistant to scratches and Full HD resolution is a notable addition. Provides large viewing angles, and you can use the tablet even at bright sunlight. Generally I am not too excited about such a small screen resolution, but a combination of Full HD 1920 x 1200 + Android 4.0 is a winner.
NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor at 1.6GHz T33L does its job very well. On the Asus Transformer Prime we had a very interesting session of gaming. I managed to install GTA III - an anniversary version, Weapon II, Dungeon Defenders, Galaxy on Fire 2 THD and more. I was fascinated by the performance of running games.
The games on ASUS Infinity run better and HD resolution gives you a new visual experience. In addition to games, I could install various applications optimized for Android 4.0, but not all have been ok for HD resolution. In the near future will work in this area. Developers have already taken into account new technologies.
ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity is 0.2mm thicker than the first and has 263 x 180.8 x 8.5 mm dimensions. ASUS has managed to integrate a stronger configuration in the same space, but with a price. ASUS Infinity has higher energy consumption. If ASUS Prime autonomy can reach up to 18 hours with tablet connected to the dock, where ASUS Infinity autonomy is somewhat less, only 14 to 15 hours. Note that this may vary depending on usage.
We can say that Transformer Infinity has a very good range compared to competing models, providing better mobility to the user. You can use the tablet on business trips, daily activities or entertainment. You can use ASUS Infinity even on a flight overseas.
ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity is an upgraded ASUS tablet. Regarding the operating system and applications we do not have much to comment. I do not think that such application that puts the Asus tablet to the test exists for current configuration. Until new mobile devices, we believe that ASUS Transformer Infinity Pad is the best Android tablet on the market at this time. We took into account autonomy, application performance, portability and the practical use of the system.
ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity strengths:
+ Very good performance;
+ Good quality materials;
ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity weaknesses:
- Quite a big price considering that the package doesn't come with docking.
