Lenovo Ideapad Y700 offers top performance and has a price accessible to all gaming enthusiasts.
There are few who doubt the purpose of gaming laptops. Given that most models have very high prices, quite good and not very portable, many said it doesn't not make sense to buy such a device anymore. But market contradicts this. Indeed, the number of PCs declined considerably in recent years, but PC gaming sector has experienced a considerable increase. Why? First, because the factors that led to the overall decline in the market had no influence in this case. Specifically, smartphones and tablets have failed (and most likely will fail in the near future) to take the place of gaming PCs.
Introduction - Lenovo Ideapad Y700
Lenovo Ideapad Y700 laptop is the latest in a series that began with the model Y40 and Y50 but continued with Y70. Take advantage of a very elegant design, the area around the touchpad and the keyboard is covered with a soft material, which gives a pleasant feeling to the touch. In the upper corners there are two speakers that gives an elegant look, these two are completing a subwoofer placed on the underside, below the trackpad.
Lenovo has used another combination of red and black, the one we saw on so many gaming laptops lately that has come to bore us. Apart from that, we must mention that the keyboard is an exception, as we are used to those from Lenovo. Ideal design of this allows a high speed when typing. Not so good is the trackpad, whose buttons require a strong push if you don't have an available mouse. An interesting feature is its ability to automatically turn off when typing to prevent accidental movement of the cursor.
Its Full HD 15.6-inch display is good, but not impressive when you compare with other gaming laptops available at a price somewhat similar. Brightness is relatively good, so you could use it smoothly even outdoors. You will feel, probably, a higher temperature in the right side of the laptop, that is where they are mounted the processor and video card. But since we do a gaming laptop, this could be good news, because the area around the WASD buttons will not be affected.
Lenovo Ideapad Y700 - Pro Points
Performance, as we said earlier, is very good, but do not expect to run the latest games with all settings at maximum. Games like The Witcher, Fallout 3 or 4, for example, are expected to work near 40 FPS at times, with the details to "High". Others, like Metro Redux will jump to 60 FPS. The throttling, although present, to some extent, will not pose a problem so that the processor will run a slightly less frequent than 2.6GHz (and in those cases, the decrease will be insignificant). Its temperature and graphics card in the toughest conditions will be maintained between 70 and 80 degrees Celsius, normal value for both components. The results, of course, are guaranteed by an Intel Core i7-6700HQ, 16GB RAM and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 with 4GB video card.
Lenovo Ideapad Y700 - Cons Points
Autonomy relatively has a weak battery in the new Ideapad Y700, in our opinion. We don't think, however, that deserves to insist on this issue, given that we are dealing with a gaming device. Indeed, if you want to play and have the brightness to maximum, then you probably should expect a range of about two hours. But otherwise, you can easily reach six hours. The main idea, however, for Lenovo Ideapad Y700, is that this chapter is weaker than some comparable devices.
Lenovo Ideapad Y700 - Conclusion
Overall, the new Y700 series comes with significant improvements over the previous generation. Comes with new design components and automatically performing much better. Price and quality ratio is exceptional as it is a gaming laptop. Thus, if you want to opt for an entry-level gaming laptop that does not require a huge financial sacrifice, Lenovo Ideapad Y700 is one of the best one out there.
