Acer Aspire M3 Touch is agile, strong, thin, lightweight and has a simple design. Acer Aspire M3 has a multi-touch screen that supports up to 10 simultaneous pressure points and is dedicated to Windows 8.
These days we tested the first ultrabook with touch screen and Windows 8. It seems that Acer is on track, first with the rebranding and secondly with the products. Acer Aspire M3 comes in a slim box provided with a handle for easy transport and it weighs about 2.5 Kg. The box caught my attention and the new Acer Aspire logos that are part of the process of changing the Acer's image, and its motivational slogan "Explore beyond limits". In the box you can find the ultrabook, charger, CD and Booklet.
Acer Aspire M3 is not a new product. It can be found on the market for quite some time, in a standard form, without touch screen. The new M3, the one we tested, comes as a refresh range. Upgrading a device that is already ultra-thin, ultra-light, strong and rich in features designed to enhance the user experience has been a challenge for Acer. The Acer Aspire M3 Touch has a touch screen with 10 points, ready to provide a great browsing experience, is dedicated to the new operating system from Microsoft.
I liked the fact that M3 is a well built, without hotspots, the case doesn't flex, hinges are good and tend to believe that there will not be problems in time. Its minimalist design is suitable for business and entertainment.
Acer Aspire M3 is an agile model, fast, balanced configuration and designed to meet daily requirements. Third generation of Intel processor and dedicated graphics is a good combination even for a few games without too many complaints. Acer Aspire M3 is the first Ultrabook Acer that comes with dedicated NVIDIA GeForce GT640M graphics card. I want to mention that the processor and video card came in forms ULV - Ultra-low-voltage. However, the synthetic tests scores impressed us.
I can say that another plus is the battery with its strength and autonomy. Extended battery life is standard for all Acer Timeline Series. It offers a full day of productivity and entertainment on a single charge. Moreover, comes equipped with Acer Green Instant-On technology that brings to life and resumes from sleep in just 1.5 seconds. In addition, Acer Instant Connect reconnects to your favorite access points in just 2.5 seconds.
The conclusion is that the Acer Aspire M3 Touch is balanced and has a powerful configuration for ultrabook, provide enough autonomy for a day's work, enjoys the Acer Instant Connect and Acer Green Instant-On technologies, weighs 2.3 kg and has a thickness of 22 mm.
Acer Aspire M3 strengths:
- Very good and balanced configuration for an ultrabook;
- Nice design, good quality materials;
- Good autonomy;
- Good temperatures, the palmrest always remains cold.
Acer Aspire M3 weaknesses:
- The touch screen gets dirty quickly;
- Weight and thickness slightly exceeded the recommended limits of Intel ultrabook.
Comes with Windows 8 of 64 bits, Intel Core i5-3317U CPU, 1.7 GHz dual core, 3 MB cache, 2.6 GHz Turbo, HT, 22 nm, 17 W and has a 15.6 inch display with 1366 x 768 pixels - Multi-touch. With its 6GB DDR3 1600MHz you can play on it how much you want.
All ports are in the back, and this has positive sides and negative sides. It's a bit awkward to use a stick because you always have to lie behind the laptop, but is ok when you connect an external monitor and you do not hit the wires.
